The Spotify Music Quiz is the music streaming service’s latest mobile feature, challenging fans to test their knowledge across more than 2,000 artists. The feature is rolling out from Tuesday in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia and a handful of other countries.
The shareable quiz follows a BTS quiz launched earlier in the year and now appears on 2,000 artists’ profiles, including BTS. It features music trivia, album cover art and audio tracks spanning an artist’s music and career milestones. Fans can share their scores for each artist’s quiz with friends, in a similar fashion to the popular New York Times puzzle Wordle.
Quizzes are available for artists including Bad Bunny, Don Toliver, Bruno Mars and Charli xcx.
How to use the Spotify Music Quiz
To find a quiz, you need to visit an individual artist’s page within the app. First, make sure your Spotify app is up to date. Next, play a track from the artist, and a Music Quiz card will appear in their profile.
The app then asks a series of questions about the artist and their music. Once you have finished, you can share your score across various social media and messaging apps.
Spotify’s engagement features
Spotify is the world’s largest music streaming service, with over 300 million paid subscribers. The platform frequently experiments with new ways of engaging its users, including snapshots of your streaming history, AI-driven personalisation options, a Running Mode for workouts and the popular Wrapped yearly summary.
The Music Quiz adds to this roster of interactive features, bringing a trivia element to artist profiles for listeners in the launch markets.
